During your first trimester of pregnancy, your sleep may be affected by nausea, vomiting, headaches, tender breasts, mild overheating, constipation, or bloating.

Sleep deprivation in this period can cause stress and depression, and later, higher blood pressure and gestational diabetes. However, sleep struggles are experienced by virtually every pregnant woman in the first trimester, so don't worry too much!

There are many things you can do to help you sleep better in your first trimester. Consider altering your diet, not drinking too many liquids before bed, changing your bedtime habits, adjusting your sleep environment, and using a loose sleep bra if you suffer from tender breasts.
